What's Included

Everything we handle on eBay

Selling internationally adds shipping, currency and compliance layers that domestic marketplaces don't have — this is what we set up and manage.

  • Cross-border listing setup, creating listings compliant with eBay's international marketplace requirements.
  • Multi-currency pricing, pricing set to stay competitive after currency conversion and eBay's managed-payments fees.
  • International shipping configuration, setting up courier options, delivery estimates and customs documentation templates.
  • Policy compliance, aligning listings and return policies with the destination country's consumer rules (VAT display in the UK/EU, for instance).
  • IEC & export documentation guidance, confirming your Import Export Code and export paperwork are in order before you list.
  • Managed Payments setup, configuring payout to your Indian bank account in INR after currency conversion.
  • Returns & international disputes, handling cross-border return logistics, which are slower and costlier than domestic.
  • Category & prohibited-item checks, screening listings against destination-country import restrictions.

Who this is for

  • Manufacturers and exporters wanting a direct-to-consumer export channel
  • Existing domestic sellers (Amazon/Flipkart) expanding internationally
  • Handicraft, textile and specialty-goods sellers with export appeal
  • Sellers unclear on IEC codes, export GST treatment or customs paperwork
  • Anyone who's tried eBay listing alone and found the international settings confusing

Selling on eBay in India — what actually matters

Selling cross-border from India involves a few extra compliance steps that domestic marketplaces don't require — we make sure these are sorted before you list.

IEC code requirement

An Import Export Code (IEC) issued by DGFT is required to export goods from India, including through eBay's Global Selling program. We confirm this is in place before onboarding — it's not something we file on your behalf.

GST treatment for exports

Exports are generally zero-rated under GST, but this typically requires either a Letter of Undertaking (LUT) or paying IGST and claiming a refund. We flag this for your CA to structure correctly, since it directly affects margins.

Currency conversion & payouts

eBay's Managed Payments converts buyer currency and pays out to your Indian bank account in INR, with conversion fees factored in. We build these fees into your pricing so margins aren't quietly eaten by FX spread.

Customs & shipping documentation

International shipments need commercial invoices, HS codes and customs declarations. We set up templates so this is generated consistently for every order, not assembled ad hoc.

How It Works

FAQs

Common questions about eBay in India

Yes — an Import Export Code from DGFT is required to export goods from India. We check this is in place before onboarding you to Global Selling; we don't file it on your behalf.
Exports are generally zero-rated under GST, usually via a Letter of Undertaking or an IGST-paid-and-refunded route. The right structure depends on your business, so we loop in your CA rather than advising on filing directly.
eBay's Managed Payments converts buyer currency and pays out to your Indian bank account in INR. Conversion fees apply, and we factor them into your pricing upfront.
This varies by destination country — batteries, liquids, and certain textiles/agricultural goods often face restrictions. We check your catalog against destination rules before listing.
You (or your courier partner) handle physical shipping — eBay doesn't fulfil orders. We help you configure shipping options and set accurate delivery estimates in your listings.
